OVERVIEW
Now that you are scheduled for your hip or knee Total Joint Replacement, the Rehabilitation Services and Cardiopulmonary Services Departments would like to invite you to the Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Pre-operative Total Joint Replacement class to assist in making your surgical experience at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital a successful and positive one.

WHAT WILL BE COVERED?
The following will be covered in the class:

• Preparation for surgery and recovery
• An overview of the rehabilitation phase of your hospital stay
• Review of the daily goals for your hospital stay
• Incentive spirometry and it’s importance
• Preparing for discharge and discharge planning
• Provide answers or resources to your questions

WHEN ARE THE CLASSES?
See flyer for class dates, times and locations for the year. All classes will be conducted at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, 11815 Education Street, Auburn, CA 95602. We hope you will find a time and day prior to your surgery that enables you to attend.

WHAT DO I BRING?
If possible, the person who will be assisting you at home should attend the class with you to hear the information discussed and to have the opportunity to ask questions. You will be provided with a written handout with your joint replacement precautions, an incentive spirometer, and your discharge planning information for you to take home with you.

HOW DO I REGISTER TO ATTEND A CLASS?

Please state the following:

1. Your first and last name and phone number.
2. Date of surgery.
3. Type of surgery (hip or knee).
4. Your surgeon’s name.
5. Date and number of people attending the class.
